Introduction Adolescents have always presented unique challenges for therapists. What teenager doesn't have angst that sometimes makes it difficult for parents, teachers, and school administrators to separate those who need intervention from those who do not? Too often, individuals have approached adolescents from a single perspective and have tried to fit teenagers into one paradigm or another. The reality is that adolescence is a difficult period of life during which young people are trying to achieve adulthood, while, at the same time, hanging on to childhood and the lack of responsibility that childhood implies.
